    • "The Spirit of Rock-n-Roll"

      "King Creole"

      "Crimson Ghost"

This is the first interview I have conducted with anyone. Eerie was awesome. I am still thrilled at the fact that one of my favorite performers from my youth and today took the time to do this for me.. I only wish I had the opportunity to respond after each question, may have been a bit more interesting.
EV is one Hell of a guy for bearing with me.  Thanks again, Eerie

        • 1. Many know you for playing bass for Samhain and Danzig but you started out as a drummer for Rosemary's Babies back in 1980 through 1983. and played drums for Samhain before playing bass. What made you switch?

I was a Lousy Drummer, and Glenn thought I had a Good personality, and I should be out front, so I went for it.

          2. Were you in any bands before Rosemary's Babies?
          No.

          3. Rosemary's Babies had more of a , dare I say, DC hardcore vibe to it than your later bands. What were your musical influences during this period?

Boston bands like The FU's Gang Green, and jerry's Kids. Minor Threat and the Bad Brains, as well as some U.K. Hardcore

          4. What are you currently listening to?
A lot of Old stuff, Like Bkues, and R&B, and 40's and 50's stuff

          5. You were asked early on to join The Misfits, what made you decline?

Just wasn't the right time in my Life. I think it worked out well in the Long run

          6. SAMHAIN has a much darker sound than that of The Misfits, and lyrically changed quite a bit, what would you say influenced this most?

I think Glenn wanted to get more serious, and grow as a writer, get into religion, and Real Life Horror.

          7. In 86 SAMHAIN signed with Rick Rubin and Def Jam. Rumors are Rubin wanted to only sign Danzig and to form a "super group." Do you know who Rick was planning on adding to the roster?

That's what happened really, Glenn and I hand picked Chuck Biscuits and John Christ. Glenn wanted me around because we were friends, and never knew if those guys were gonna stick around.

          8. What was it like working with Mr. Rubin?

We learned a few things from Rick, He had a bunch of different influences. I think he learned from us too. It was a good experience.

          9. Any chance of a SAMHAIN reunion?
Glenn does a Samhain reunion ever few years. He's doing one now, as a matter of fact.
He has out 2 drummers and Him, and whatever guy is playing,
          for Danzig.

          10. After DANZIG you started your solo career, was it hard to make that change?

I had learned a lot from Glenn, Rubin, and everyone else from the Samhain/Danzig years, so I wanted to do my own thing.
It's always hard to leave your friends, but you have to grow up sometime.

          11. What is your favorite Rosemary Baby's song? Misfits song? Samhain song? Danzig song? Eerie Von song?
I like "Talking to the Dead" from RB, and Samhain, maybe "November's Fire", and Danzig? Too many Great songs to name one.

          12. You are one hell of a photographer and artist, if you were to have to focus on one, which would it be?

I like painting a lot. I still shoot pictures, but not as much as years ago, but i just got a good Digital SLR so I'm getting back into it.

          13. Who or what would you say are your biggest influences with your art and photography?
I don't have any influences for photography, and i try not to be influenced when it comes to painting, but I do like Jackson Pollock
          and Van Gogh

          14. Do you have any muses?
          Life

Now I am bound, I am caught
I am tied with a lover's knot
I am bound, caught, tied with a lover's knot
Like a fly, caught in your web
I could break free, or I could wait for death
I am bound, caught, tied with a lover's knot

Bound, caught, tied with a lover's knot

I walked in, to that room
And I fell under the spell of her perfume
And I got lost with that lover's knot

Can't break away
And here I'm gonna stay

Caught in that lover's knot
One day soon, she might let me be
Maybe one day soon, she'll let me break free
Till then I'm bound, I am caught, tied with that lover's knot

Won't someone show me the way
And one day I will be gone
She promised me everything
And she gave it to me
Bound, caught, tied with that lover's knot
I am bound, I am caught, tied with that lover's knot
